Win Mother's Daze
One of the funnest parts of going to writers' retreats is meeting new authors and getting their books. Author Jane Still generously donated one of her books to give away on my blog. It's an 82 page Erma-Bombeck style book on the joys of pregnancy and motherhood.
My favorite part was about morning sickness:
I find it ludicrous that some men, including doctors, have the nerve to suppose that throughout the entire span of history, women were so stupid that they couldn't invent a sickness that was a little less repulsive. If I were going to concoct a disease, it would have something to do with eating expensive chocolate. It would not involve sticking my head inside a toilet for a preview of last night's dinner being re-served in the form of warmed-over soup.
So, so true. Do you know who came up with the idea that morning sickness was a psychological phenomena? Freud. Do you know why he thought that? Because he was never pregnant.
Anyway, if you'd like a chance to win Mother's Daze, leave a comment in my blog about your favorite or least favorite part of motherhood. My followers get double chances and if you also happen to be a follower of Jane Still, make sure to mention it and you will get triple chances.

I'm first! Wahoo!
I hate the sleepless nights. My kids didn't start sleeping through the night until they were over a year old. No fun for momma.
I hate having to pee every five minutes during pregnancy. Oh yeah, and after as well...
I am also a follower! I would love to have this book. Actually I probably could have written this book, sans the fabulous writing skills.
I sooo hear you about the sleeping through the night thing. Out of five children, only one slept through the night before a year. I think they all owe me a lifetime supply of chocolate instead of just breakfast in bed on Mother's Day.
I'm a follower.
I am a mother of 2 boys ages 4 and 2, and I'm 24 weeks pregnant with our 3rd boy. We have a wild house soon to be wilder.
The best part of being a mom is all the love. I love snuggling and reading stories with my boys and just having a blast playing together and laughing.
The worst part is the feeling of having absolutely no control over my life, especially my daily routine.
As of yesterday, my least favorite is laundry.
My favorite - "Mommy, I wub you. I'm sorry for trying to be better."
That last was an apology from my four year old - he got coached for it by his father, but it didn't come out just right.
Oh, I'm a follower.
I'm a follower on her blog now as well. She is too wise to ignore. And I loved her post on "Eat Pray Love". So funny. Thanks for introducing us!
Hey Janette, Wow you are awesome and FAST! I am writing a blog about your contest Monday so my followers can get involved too.
I can't wait to read all your books.
I am not a mother, but this week I had some serious talks with my mother-in-law and realized that my least favorite part of being a mother will be how restricted my life will be by my children! But I'm sure it will be worth it!
Also, I follow you and Jane Still, so three chances for me!
My favorite part about motherhood is being a grandma!! It is so fun to be surrounded by little ones again, but not having to change a diaper if I don't want too!!
And it is fun to watch "the curse" in action. You know, how we tell our children, "I hope someday you have a child just like you!!" LOL
In all actuality, the best thing is watching your children become better parents than you!
Being a mom is the best! That being said, the worst part is my poor broken body that will never be the same after pregnancy and childbirth. My favorite saying to my husband regarding my new body is, "you broke it, you bought it!" The men should hold some of that responsibility I think.
I am following you;)
I am a follower on Goodreads. It was great to get to know you better this weekend and hear your wonderful presentations(and Jane's too.)
My favorite part of motherhood at the vantage point of an empty nester is having people in this world who "get" me because they are a part of me.
My least favorite part was getting advice from perfect strangers at the store. (I'm trying not to give unsolicited advice to my new daddy son and his wife.)
I am a follower, but I am not a mother. I watch my nephew everyonce in a while and even if he misbehaves, it melts my hear to hear him say I love you.
I love when my kids learn something new and are so excited to show you. Also when they say that they love you...melts your heart=)...And I am a follower!
I just love being a Mom...=)
My least favorite part of motherhood, today, is cleaning up others' puke. My favorite is the hugs with little hands patting your back.
I'm a follower on Goodreads and left a comment over there. In case that doesn't count, I'll post a short one here.
My least favorite part (right now) is potty training. The extra laundry alone is enough to drive me crazy.
Oh, and somedays, when every single sentence starts with "Mom!" I think about changing my name.
I follow you and Jane. My least favorite part of motherhood is never getting enough sleep.
I am a follower of you and Jane! My favorite part of motherhood is seeing my children choose the right...especially after having seen them choose the wrong and learn from it! Woo Hoo! BTW...I want to win one of your books!
I'm an empty nester, but my fave is getting a long distance call from the grandson, my least fave is getting a long distance call from the grandson wanting MONEY!!
I'm a new follower on you and Jane.
Currently I'm uber-pregnant (39 5/7), so at the moment my least favorite thing is rolling out of bed and taking five minutes to warm up my muscles and creak my way to the bathroom... three or four times a night. I didn't think I was supposed to creak until I was 70 or 80.
